The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) have organized a two-day Orientation and Capacity Building training programme for Newly Recruited Staff to the Ministry from  12th to 13th January, 2021 in Accra.
The aim of the programme was to provide a comprehensive training to newly recruited staff to make them more efficient and professional in duties assigned to them at their respective post at the ministry.
The programme has as objectives to:
– Teach new staff about Civil Service rules and regulations
– Orient newly recruited staff on code of conduct and ethics of the Civil Service
– Train new recruits on issues of human trafficking
– Sensitize the security personnel on matters of security and safety.
Addressing participants, the Chief Director for MoGCSP, Dr. Afisah Zakariah urged new staff to work assiduously in the delivery of their duties. She admonished them to be very focused at work and also be proactive to produce the best of results as they work for the ministry.
The Chief Director explained that just as any working organization, the Ministry has its bureaucracy system that they need to adhere to and respect in order to continuously promote the administrative procedure at the Ministry.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah called on the new staff to partake in the culture of respect, togetherness, and result oriented mindset that exist at the Ministry.
She further tasked them to set new challenges for themselves in order to progress in their respective work field.
The Ag. Director for the Human Resource Directorate, Madam Dzifa Kemevor, said that the programme was to help new staff to know each other as well as understand what the business of the ministry is in the development of Ghana.
She mentioned that the civil service, just like any other work demands seriousness and commitment; therefore they should put their best in every work they do.
As part of the two-day orientation and training exercise, there were presentations on Personal Security and Confidentiality, Office Security, Security Management, overview and organogram of the Ministry amongst others.
