In a statement read on behalf of the Chief Director and Chairperson of the Committee, Dr Afisah Zakariah, the Ag. She emphasized that the NCPC serves as a platform where all child protection issues are discussed, providing steps and appropriate intervention to address them.

According to her, it has become necessary for Ghana to have a framework in dealing with child protection issues in case of emergency or natural disaster. The move, she said will help the government and the citizenry to prepare for the future occurrences.

Mrs. Quartey tasked committee members to be committed in sharing information in their respective sectors on time, mainstream child protection issues into their sector plans and report to the Committee on the progress made.
