The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) have organized a 3-day annual performance review, planning workshop and training in Ho, Volta Region from the 3rd to 5th February, 2021.
The Ministry undertook programmes and activities in line with its mandate to promote and protect the right of the vulnerable and ensure gender equality under the 2020 fiscal year. It is in view of this that, the Ministry organized the workshop to:
1. Review activities, identify key challenges and lessons learnt to inform planning and implementation of the 2021 annual work plan.
2. Equip participants with the requisite knowledge to enable them combat Human Trafficking related issues.
The Chief Director for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Afisah Zakariah  in her statement urged participants to fully participate and make meaningful contributions that will bring out critical issues that the Ministry must focus its attention on for the years ahead.
She also used the opportunity to advise participants to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols by washing their hands regularly with soap under running water, the wearing of mask and the use of alcohol based hand sanitizer.
As part of the 3- day workshop, there were key presentations from Directorates, Secretariats, Council and Departments of the Ministry.
Present at the workshop were the outgoing Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison, the outgoing Deputy Minister, Hon. Freda Prempeh, the Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, as well as Heads of Directorates, Secretariats, Council and Departments of the ministry.
