The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Information Services Department Ghana (ISD) on Monday, 9th May, 2022 at the Ministry’s Conference Room.

The MOU between the two parties was signed purposely for Public Information Campaign (PIC) and implementation support to the Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR).

Dr. Afisah Zakariah, Chief Director for the Ministry thanked the ISD for their partnership, collaboration and support. Adding that the Ministry is willing to support them to have a fruitful exercise.

On his part, the Head of the Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR), Dr. Richard Adjetey said an essential activity for the success of the GNHR registration process is an intensive Public Information Campaign (PIC). Hence the need to partner ISD for a successful campaign.

He added that the PIC will ensure maximum participation of households in the registration process.

The Acting Chief Information Director, Mr David Owusu-Amoah, who underscored the relevance of PIC, said they are poised to deliver a successful sensitization on the GNHR PIC.

He thanked the Ministry for the opportunity and promised that ISD will carry out an effective exercise.

The Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR), a Unit under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has been mandated to create a Single National Household Register. The development of such register involves the collection of information on the composition and socio-economic characteristics of households.

The register, when completed, will serve as a database for the selection of beneficiaries for all social protection programmes in Ghana.
