Ahead of the 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Dakoa Newman, welcomed students from selected schools to the Ministry for a special photo shoot session. This initiative was part of a broader social media campaign aimed at amplifying the voices of girls and highlighting their dreams for the future.

As part of the session, the school children participated in a social media campaign challenge, where each girl shared her vision for a better world. Holding placards, the girls expressed their aspirations for a future where every girl is empowered, educated, and protected.

The messages will be disseminated across social media platforms under the Ministry’s #GirlsVisionChallenge to raise awareness ahead of the International Day of the Girl Child.

Hon. Dakoa Newman, addressing the young girls, remarked, they are the future leaders of the nation and as such, their dreams and voices are powerful tools for change.

She called on all stakeholders to work together to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to pursue their dreams without any limitations.

The 2024 International Day of the Girl Child, scheduled for 11th October, 2024 is under the theme “Girls’ Vision for the Future”.
