MINISTER ENGAGES MANAGEMENT OF GSFP

The Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, 𝐏𝐡𝐃, has, on Tuesday 4th February 2025, engaged with the Management of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) to discuss key developments and challenges affecting the programme’s implementation.

During the meeting, the Management team of GSFP delivered a presentation outlining the current status of the programme: including its reach, achievements, and areas that require strategic intervention.

The team provided insights into the number of beneficiary schools, challenges faced in food supply and payments, as well as proposed measures to enhance the efficiency of the programme.

A key highlight of the presentation was the recognition of the Ghana School Feeding Programme as one of the most respected programmes in Africa.

The Minister in her remarks, commended the team for their dedication to ensuring that school children across the country receive nutritious meals.

She reiterated the President’s commitment to address the challenges confronting the programme and she pledged to lead the Ministry to bring onboard innovative ideas that will enhance its impact on child nutrition and education.

“As a Ministry, we are committed to working closely with all stakeholders to address the challenges, enhance efficiency, and ensure the sustainability of this important programme,”She said.

The engagement provided an opportunity for a deeper dialogue on ways to strengthen the programme and enhance its benefits to school children nationwide.

In attendance were the Chief Director – Dr. Afisah Zakariah, Director of Policy, Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation – Mrs Florence Ayisi Quartey, and the Head of the Human Resource Management Directorate – Madam Vida Owusua-Mensah.
