It is said that the health and well-being of children are dependent on our commitment to promoting quality health care services and healthy habits at home, at school and in the community.

As such, the Department of Children of the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection organised a health screening exercise for the children living in and around Shama District on Thursday 30th August, 2018.
The event marks the second activity outlined by the department for the celebration of this year’s National Children’s Day.

Children present were taking through weight checking, ear, eye sight, oral hygiene, skin, as well as deworming.

The event was put together with support from UNICEF Ghana, the Government of Canada, and also with the collaboration the of the Shaman District Health Directorate.
