GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED PERSONS AT LOCKDOWN AREAS THROUGH THE HELPLINE OF HOPE CALL CENTRE

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection through the Helpline of Hope Call Centre has supported most vulnerable persons during the lockdown period in some parts of the country.

During the lockdown, the call centre received over a hundred calls within a day. Their grievances were channeled to the appropriate quarters for prompt action.

The call centre collaborated with most NADMO officers at the various MMDAs to distribute relief food items to residents of the affected areas who contacted the call centre for support during the lockdown.

The Helpline of Hope as a matter of importance, receives complaints from aggrieved citizens for proper redress at all times. In general, it is a platform for citizens and the vulnerable in society to express any physical and emotional abuse they encounter.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection’s Helpline of Hope call centre is to disseminate relevant Information to the public in line with Government’s Social Protection Programmes.

Beneficiaries of the relief food items, submitted their complaints to the Helpline of Hope Call Centre toll free numbers; 0800-800-800 / 0800-900-900

The distribution of the relief food items was coordinated during the lockdown period by the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Cynthia Mamle Morrison and the Social Protection Director, Dr. Rita Owusu-Amankwah.
