GOVERNMENT OF GHANA DISTRIBUTES 100,000 FOOD PACKAGES TO THE POOR AND VULNERABLE

The Government of Ghana has rolled out a number of measures to combat the Corona Virus pandemic in the country to ensure the well-being of Ghanaians.

This is because Government recognizes the plight of the poor and vulnerable in these unfortunate times.

Some of the measures put in place by Government is the ongoing distribution of 100,000 food packages to cater for the poor and vulnerable at the affected lockdown areas in the country.

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection on behalf of Government started the distribution of the food items on 4th April, 2020 at the Ablekuma Central Municipal Area.

The distribution team was led by the Social Protection Director of the MoGCSP, Dr. Rita Owusu-Amankwah.

Places visited includes Ngwan-Kutare, Ngwan-Makafi amongst others.

The Distribution is expected to be carried out within the week at the various affected lockdown areas.
