The Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR), a unit under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has commenced it’s first wave of communication/ sensitization exercise in the Central Region ahead of the GNHR data collection exercise.

The Communication/ Operation Team which comprised of officers from the MoGCSP visited Oceans TV and some radio stations such as Kastle, Ahomka and Darling FMs on 2nd August, 2022 to create awareness among the general public.

The team focused on the essence/benefit of the data collection exercise to the individual.

The Ghana National Household Registry was established to create a single database for effective and efficient targeting of the extremely poor, vulnerable and excluded people in the country.

It also involves the registration of households through the collection of basic information on their social economic status by administering a data intake questionnaire to each household.

As part of the exercise, the team is also paying courtesy calls on the Municipal/District Chief Executives and Coordinating Directors and also holding brief meetings with the various District Liaison Officers to further plan for the exercise within their respective MMDAs.
