The Ghana Delegation at the UN 63rd session of the status of women has a held a side event dubbed ‘Ghana day’ at the Headquarters of the UN. The event afforded the gender ministry to showcase projects and policies the Ghana Government is undertaking as part of social protection.

The chief director of the Gender Ministry Dr. Afisah Zakariah who represented the Gender minister outlined such policies as the LEAP, MASLOC, school feeding programme, the free SHS among others.

She was happy about the input other Countries made and has promised the ministry’s readiness to inculcate the good ones in order to shape these policies and programs to better the lives of women Children and the under privilege in society.

In an interview with Oman news’s Abena Kweikumah, Ghana’s Ambassador to the permanent mission at the UN Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee was elated about the Ghana side event especially about the inputs some participants made into Ghana’s social protection initiatives.
