DR. AFISAH ZAKARIAH SENSITIZES MOGCSP STAFF ON COVID – 19

The Chief Director for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Afisah Zakariah on Friday 13th March, 2020 sensitized staff of the Ministry at a workout session on the deadly COVID-19 Virus also known as Corona Virus.
She noted that there was the need for staff to take precautionary measures to avoid contracting the virus.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah advised staff to avoid large gatherings, handshakes and close contact with people who may clearly show signs of contracting the virus.
She encouraged the use of disposable tissues when sneezing and coughing. She added that regular handwashing with soap under running water alongside increasing the usage of hand sanitizers were some of the ways to prevent contracting of the virus.
She further informed staff of measures that management have taken to ensure that staff are safeguarded against the virus.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah mentioned that from Monday there will be hand sanitizers at vantage points of the Ministry.
She also indicated that the Ministry was in the process of procuring a Digital Heat Thermometer to check the temperature of anyone who visits the Ministry.
She further advised staff to report to the nearest health facility when they suspect any symptoms or signs of the deadly disease.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah who is a Medical Doctor by profession said the only way to live a healthy life is to be mindful about the foods they consume. She encouraged staff to eat balanced hot meals in the right proportions to avoid contracting other diseases which are equally dangerous as the COVID-19 Virus.
Staff of the Ministry also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Director, Dr. Afisah Zakariah for her constant sensitisation on health issues which is having a great impact on their work output.
