DR. AFISAH ZAKARIAH HONOURED AT 2025 AFRICAN EXCELLENCE AND PERSONALITY AWARDS

Dr. Afisah Zakariah – Chief Director of the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection, has been honoured at the 2025 African Excellence and Personality Awards.
The awards celebrate individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, resilience, and impact in their fields across the continent.
Organized by Africa’s Corporate Excellence and Personality Awards (ACEPA), the initiative seeks to recognize and inspire excellence, innovation, and exemplary service in both the public and private sectors, with the aim of fostering a culture of progress and development across Africa.
Over the years, the event has consistently recognized visionary leaders and institutions driving Africa’s growth and transformation.
In her acceptance speech, Dr. Afisah Zakariah described the award as a tribute to perseverance, service, and integrity.
She emphasized the importance of recognizing those who have overcome challenges to impact society and applauded ACEPA’s focus on women in leadership. She highlighted the Ministry’s role in promoting gender equality and the recent passage of the Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, 2024, as a milestone toward inclusive development.
She called on leaders to leave footprints for future generations and to continue creating spaces that empower women and girls.
