DEVELOPMENT PARTNERS MEETING

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) in its quest to efficiently carry out its mandate has instituted a Development Partners Meeting (DPM)
In view of the above, MoGCSP has held its 2023 first quarter DPM on Thursday, 27th April, 2023.
Among other goals, the meeting sought to strengthen the coordination and collaboration between the Ministry and its Development Partners (DPs).
It also aimed at sharing the Ministry’s Workplan for the year 2023 with Development Partners as well as listen to their plans for the Ministry.
Interacting with DPs, the Sector Minister for the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu indicated that the Ministry has reactivated and initiated the sector-wide DPM to facilitate more interactions, dialogue and discussions with partners to tackle key focus areas of the Ministry.
“We are looking at teaming up with you to ensure we all collaborate effectively to make sure no one is left behind in the development agenda of the country, and this we believe will come to fruition with your support” she said.
She revealed that data has so far been collected on Lepers across the country for their inclusion onto the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme, which is one of government’s key flagship programme.
On her part, the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah commended the DPs for their immense contributions to the Ministry.
She however urged them to use their platforms to sensitize and support women to actively participate in the next district level elections to ensure their active participation in decision making and to increase the gender balance at the various district assemblies.
Dr. Afisah Zakariah, Chief Director for the Ministry thanked the DPs for their commitment towards the execution of the Ministry’s mandate.
She said the ministry will continue to engage DPs to ensure key focus areas that are dear to the Ministry and DPs is achieved.
On their part, the Development Partners thanked the Ministry for organizing such an important meeting and promised to support the Ministry in its key deliverables.
