CANADA DAY CELEBRATION

On Wednesday, 5th July 2023, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu represented the Government of Ghana on the occasion of the 156th Canada Day celebration in Accra. The day also commemorates Ghana’s and Canada’s successful 66 years of diplomatic ties.

The minister, who was also the guest of honor for the ceremony, noted that both nations have fostered a close and enduring friendship based on shared values, respect for one another, and a shared commitment to growth and development.

Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu asserted that Ghana recognizes Canada as a global leader in promoting peace, security, and sustainable development. “Canada’s commitment to these principles resonates strongly with our own national aspirations” She intimated.

The Minister stated that both countries have made considerable contributions to United Nations peacekeeping operations, reflecting a common commitment to upholding peace and stability on a global scale. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to a future of shared prosperity, cooperation, and friendship.
