2025 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY WALK

The Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP), through its Department of Gender, will commemorate the 2025 International Women’s Day (IWD) with an Empowerment Walk.

This initiative aligns with the global theme, “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” under the campaign hashtag #ForAllWomenAndGirls.

Ghana has also adopted a localized theme, “50 Years of the Women’s National Machinery in Ghana: The Journey So Far,” to reflect on five decades of progress in advancing gender equality.

The Empowerment Walk will take participants through the principal streets of Accra, starting from the Obra Spot, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, and concluding at the forecourt of the MoGCSP’s new office complex.

The event will serve as a platform to raise awareness of women’s rights, mobilize support for gender equality, and evaluate progress made towards women’s empowerment in Ghana.
