The Ghana National Household Registry (GNHR) has successfully completed a data dissemination tour across the Central, Volta, and Oti Regions. This initiative follows the Registry’s extensive data collection activities in 2023, aimed at ensuring accurate and reliable information to support national development efforts.
The tour, part of GNHR’s core mandate, was designed to present collected data to key stakeholders, including Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs), and to promote the effective use of this data in public policy planning, research, and developmental projects.
Key objectives of the tour included sharing insights into the findings and challenges from the data collection process and preparing stakeholders for the upcoming Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) reassessment exercise.
Designated officers led the dissemination sessions, adhering to Ghana’s Data Protection Law by following strict data-sharing protocols to ensure privacy and security.
During the engagements, presentations highlighted critical socio-economic indicators, such as education, sanitation, and health, while providing stakeholders with actionable insights on how the data could guide decision-making and policy formulation to address regional challenges and promote sustainable development.
The Head of the GNHR, Dr. Richard Adjetey, used the platform to update stakeholders on the Registry’s progress, share lessons learned from recent data collection activities, and discuss collaborative strategies for utilizing the data effectively.
The tour fostered partnerships and enhanced stakeholders’ understanding of the GNHR’s mandate, reinforcing its commitment to leveraging reliable data for evidence-based planning and social protection interventions.
Through these efforts, the GNHR continues to underscore the importance of data-driven decision-making in addressing regional development challenges and supporting national policy initiatives.
