WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY AT NUNGUA SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL

On Wednesday, 28th May, 2025, I had the privilege of marking Menstrual Hygiene Day with the vibrant students of Nungua Senior High School, alongside the Municipal Chief Executive for Krowor, the Education Director, the Headmistress, and Hon. Assembly Members. We engaged in an empowering dialogue on menstrual health and distributed sanitary pads as a symbol of our commitment to menstrual equity.

As Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, I reaffirmed President John Dramani Mahama’s vision of building a period-friendly Ghana—a country where no girl is limited by menstruation, where access to sanitary products is a right and not a privilege, and where menstrual health education is mainstreamed across our schools and communities.

Creating a period-friendly Ghana means removing barriers, challenging stigma, and ensuring that every girl has the freedom and dignity to thrive—every day of the month.

Let’s work together to end period poverty and ensure that menstruation is never a reason for exclusion or shame.
