TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP REVIEWS DRAFT REGULATIONS FOR THE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION ACT

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection held a meeting with the Technical Working Group Committee to review and validate the draft Legislative Instrument for the Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Act, 2024 (Act 1121).

The meeting, which was chaired by the Minister, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, brought together members of the Committee to deliberate on the draft regulations and address comments raised by the Office of the Attorney-General.

The Minister underscored the Ministry’s appreciation to members of the Committee for their continuous commitment toward the effective implementation of the Affirmative Action Act.

She highlighted progress made since the passage of the Act, including the inauguration of the Gender Equity Committee, the official launch of the Act, and the establishment of a Technical Working Group to develop the Legislative Instrument.

The Minister also commended the Attorney-General’s Department and the Technical Working Group for their immense contributions and urged members to sustain their collaboration and dedication to advancing Ghana’s gender equality agenda.
