PRESENTATION OF SAMSUNG TABLETS TO DSW OFFICERS

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection with support from the World Food Programme has presented Sixty -one (61) Samsung Tablets to some selected District Social Welfare Officers (DSWOs) on Monday 16th January 2023 in Accra.
The Samsung Tablets which was handed over to the selected officers by the Minister, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu (MP) aims at improving the digitization of LEAP electronic reporting systems and decentralization of its Management Information Systems (MIS) of the Department.
Delivering her statement, Hon. Lariba Zuweira Abudu stressed that the Samsung tablets will address the challenges the Department is faced with as well as reduce the manual system of working by the officers.
She urged Officers to use the device for its intended purpose to enhance efficient and effective programme delivery.
The Deputy Director for the LEAP Programme, Dr. Myles Ongoh indicated that the tablets will enable the officers to embrace electronic work and achieve their objectives on time.
The Country Representative Director for the World Food Programme (WFP), Madam Babara Clemens on her part congratulated the Minister on her Ministerial appointment. She expressed her gratitude about the level of work done by the Ministry in helping the vulnerable in the country.
Madam Babara Clemens however pledged on WFP’s continuous collaboration with MoGCSP to help Ghanaians who are in need through the LEAP Programme.
A Representative from the Department of Social Welfare on behalf of the officers thanked the Ministry and WFP for their support.
The officers promised to make good use of the Tablets in order to enhance the reporting format on LEAP issues to ensure the living conditions of the vulnerable in the country is improved.
The Sixty-one Samsung Tablets distributed to the District Social Welfare Officers across the country is part of the Ministry’s continuous logistical support to the DSWOs in the various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies towards the effective implementation of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) Programme.
Present at the event was the Deputy Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Francisca Oteng Mensah (MP).
