PREPARATORY MEETING FOR MONITORING OF THE 94TH AND 95TH CYCLE OF REGULAR LEAP PAYMENT

In order to ensure effective planning, coordination, and execution of the LEAP monitoring activity, the Social Protection Directorate under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection organised a preparatory meeting for monitoring the 94th and 95th Cycle of Regular LEAP Payment.

The meeting, which aimed to ensure that all the team leaders are adequately prepared to oversee the disbursement process, address potential challenges for monitoring and reporting.

The meeting was covened to;

discuss the monitoring framework for the 94th and 95th payment cycles and ensure that directors and team leaders understand their roles and responsibilities in the monitoring process.

It was also to identify challenges from previous cycles and implement corrective measures.

In an opening remarks, the Director for the Social Protection Directorate, Madam Francisca Abena Atuluk through the Chief Director of the Ministry, Dr Afisa Zakariah emphasized the importance of effective monitoring to ensure timely and accurate payments to the beneficiaries.

Madam Francisca Atuluk tasked the officers to submit the final field reports, data validation, and proper documentation of findings to inform future policy decisions.

She pledged SPD’s committed to continous engagement with all Directors and team leaders to address emerging issues and improve the efficiency of the leap payment process

Presentation was delivered on the structure and disbursement process of the payment cycles, roles, and responsibilities of the monitoring teams, highlighting on the;

– Guidelines for the monitoring exercise (terms and references)

– Data collection methods and reporting templates

– Importance of field visits and beneficiary verification

– Compliance measures to ensure transparency and accountability on the field.

The officers were assigned to specific regions with clear reporting expectations.

The meeting successfully outlined a comprehensive plan for monitoring the 94th and 95th cycle of LEAP payments. Thus, participants are committed to ensuring a smooth process, addressing past challenges, and improving beneficiary experience.
