The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has constituted and deployed teams nationwide to conduct stakeholder engagement following the recent reassessment of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme.

This engagement marks the Ministry’s transition into the next critical phase of the LEAP reassessment process, focusing on communicating outcomes and the Community Validation Process at the district and community levels.

The exercise aims to enhance coordination among national, regional, and district-level institutions through consistent, policy-aligned communication, ensuring that clear and uniform information is provided regarding the outcomes and the role of the Assemblies in the Community Validation Process.

Participants include political and administrative heads across various MMDAs, such as District Chief Executives (DCEs), Coordinating Directors, District Reassessment team members (including District Social Welfare Officers, Planners, Statisticians, and ISD Officers), and other key stakeholders.

This collaborative effort aims to gather support and manage grievances at the community level. These interactions are expected to deepen understanding of the LEAP reassessment outcomes, manage community expectations, and reinforce the Ministry’s grievance redress mechanisms.

Through this nationwide stakeholder engagement, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision-making in the delivery of social protection programmes, ensuring that LEAP continues to serve Ghana’s most vulnerable households fairly and credibly.
