MoGCSP LAUNCHES ICT POLICY

The sector Minister, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey has officially launched the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Policy 2025 of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP).

The launch brought together the Ministry’s leadership, staff, and key stakeholders from OHCS and MSD to unveil a comprehensive policy framework aimed at modernising ICT systems, strengthening coordination, and improving service delivery across all Directorates, Departments, Secretariats, and Councils of the Ministry.

In her keynote address, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, described the ICT Policy as a significant milestone in the Ministry’s efforts to advance digital transformation within its operations. She noted that the framework provides a strategic direction for integrating technology into the Ministry’s core work to enhance efficiency, accountability, and transparent service delivery.

The Minister further emphasised that the Policy will harmonise data management and ICT governance across all entities under the Ministry.

Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey highlighted the Policy’s focus on thematic areas such as data protection and security, digital infrastructure, and capacity building. She underscored that these interventions are crucial for strengthening institutional systems and ensuring that technology is effectively used to advance gender equality, protect children, and promote social inclusion.

In concluding her remarks, the Minister encouraged staff to actively utilise digital platforms and social media to project the Ministry’s work.

She called for strong commitment to the Policy’s implementation, stressing that embracing digital innovation is essential for driving institutional growth and transformation.

Delivering the welcome address on behalf of the Chief Director, the Director of the Research, Statistics and Information Management Directorate, Dr. Sylvester Kyei-Gyamfi, expressed appreciation to all attendees and reiterated that the Policy provides a clear roadmap for system reforms and improved collaboration.

He noted that effective implementation will require continuous sensitisation and capacity building to ensure staff ownership and long-term sustainability.

A detailed overview of the ICT Policy was presented, outlining its core objectives, guiding principles, and implementation framework, with emphasis on ICT governance, information security, and equitable access to technology across the Ministry’s structures.

The launch of the ICT Policy marks a critical step toward strengthening the Ministry’s technological foundation for improved public service delivery. It also reaffirms MoGCSP’s commitment to leveraging technology to advance inclusive, transparent, and accountable service delivery.
