MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN ONE MILLION CODERS INITIATIVE

Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, participated in the launch of the ‘One Million Coders’ initiative, organized by the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovation on Wednesday 16th April, 2025.
The programme, which was officially launched by President John Dramani Mahama, aims to equip Ghanaian youth with essential digital skills, including coding, web design, and cybersecurity, to enhance their employability in the evolving digital economy.
Interacting with the media after the event, the Minister highlighted the initiative’s alignment with the Ministry’s commitment to promoting digital inclusion, particularly among women and marginalized groups.
She emphasized that empowering the youth with digital skills is crucial for bridging the gender gap and fostering inclusive development.
The Minister also announced the upcoming launch of the Free Sanitary Pad Initiative, scheduled for 24th April 2025, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.
The initiative aims to improve menstrual hygiene management among schoolgirls, reduce absenteeism, and support the overall well-being and academic performance of girls across the country.
