MEETING WITH FINLAND MINISTER FOR SOCIAL AFFAIRS AND HEALTH

During the ongoing 62nd Session of the Commission for Social Development at the UN Headquarters in New York, the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Hon. Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu engaged in a bilateral discussion with the Minister for Social Affairs and Health of Finland, H.E. Ms. Kaisa Juuso.

The meeting aimed to foster collaboration and exchange ideas on key issues related to gender equality, children’s welfare, and social protection strategies.

Both ministers discussed various initiatives and policies implemented in their respective countries to promote gender equality and social inclusion.

They shared insights into successful programs targeting vulnerable groups, such as women, children, and persons with disabilities, and explored avenues for potential cooperation and knowledge sharing.

The discussion also delved into challenges faced by both nations in achieving their social development goals, including addressing poverty, enhancing access to education and healthcare, and combating gender-based violence.

Additionally, they explored opportunities for joint projects or partnerships to address these challenges effectively.

The bilateral engagement served as a platform for mutual learning and collaboration, reinforcing the commitment of both Ghana and Finland to advancing social development, gender equality, and inclusive growth on both national and global scales.
