GENDER MINISTER JOINS UNICEF-GHANA TO MARK WORLD CHILDREN’S DAY

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, joined UNICEF-Ghana and partners to commemorate World Children’s Day at an evening event held in Accra.
The event brought together young people, development partners, government representatives, and the media to celebrate children and reaffirm commitments to their protection and development.
In her remarks, the Minister emphasized the need to honour, protect, and preserve children across all ages, noting that the future of society, 60 years from now, will rest in the hands of today’s children. She called for continued investment in safe, nurturing environments that support their growth and wellbeing.
A delegation of adolescent girls who represented Ghana at the Adolescent Girls Summit in Dakar, Senegal, presented a regional declaration on girls’ rights to the Minister. She praised their advocacy and pledged to work with stakeholders to disseminate the document and reflect its priorities in national efforts to support girls.
The Minister urged stakeholders to collaborate to safeguard the rights of children and create an inclusive future for all.
