GENDER MINISTER ENGAGES ADVISORY BOARD AND FEMALE SENIOR EDITORS TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, engaged the Ministry’s Advisory Board and Female Senior Editors to strengthen collaboration and advance the Ministry’s mandate. This was the second engagement with female senior editors this year.
The meeting with the Advisory Board provided an opportunity to review the Ministry’s achievements, assess progress on key interventions, and plan for 2026.
The Minister emphasised the importance of honest feedback and collective responsibility, noting that the Board’s guidance supports informed decision-making on the mandate of the Ministry.
Engaging Female Senior Editors, the Minister shared updates on the Ministry’s work in gender equality, child protection, and social protection. She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to advancing the rights and welfare of women, children, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations through policies and programmes focused on empowerment, social protection, and prevention of sexual and gender-based violence.
Acknowledging the media as a key partner in national development, the Minister highlighted the important role of women journalists in amplifying the voices of marginalized groups, calling for responsible and gender-sensitive reporting.
The editors welcomed the engagement and pledged continued collaboration to promote gender equality, child protection, and social inclusion.
Heads of Directorates, Departments, and Units also briefed the editors on their mandates and achievements.
The Minister concluded the session by reaffirming the Ministry’s openness to dialogue and partnership, noting that collective effort is essential to building an inclusive and equitable society.
