October 27, 2025 2:57 pm
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has convened its Fourth Quarter Ministerial Advisory Board Meeting to review progress, deliberate on key policy issues, and strengthen collaboration towards achieving the Ministry’s strategic objectives.
The Advisory Board, established under Section 39 of the Civil Service Act, 1993 (PNDCL 327) and further reinforced by the Civil Service (Ministerial Advisory Board) Regulations, 2010 (L.I. 1961), serves as a statutory body that fosters continuous engagement between the Ministry and its stakeholders.
The Board’s mandate is to advise the sector Minister on policy formulation, planning, and the effective execution of the Ministry’s responsibilities. It also provides a platform for dialogue on emerging social protection, gender, and child welfare issues, ensuring that the Ministry’s policies and programmes remain responsive to national priorities and aligned with government development goals.
The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, commended members of the Advisory Board for their continuous support and technical guidance in advancing the Ministry’s mandate. She noted that as a Ministry at the heart of social transformation, its ability to protect the vulnerable, promote gender equality, and ensure the well-being of children and families depends greatly on the strength of its policies and the partnerships it builds.
She emphasized that the Board plays a crucial role in guiding the Ministry to deliver on its mission effectively and sustainably.
A key highlight of the meeting was a presentation on the Ministry’s achievements to date, alongside other deliberations focused on policy direction.
