The Human Trafficking Management Board (HTMB) convened its fourth and final meeting for the year to review the fourth quarter activities of the Human Trafficking Secretariat and to adopt the 2026 work plan.

The meeting sought to assess progress made in the national fight against human trafficking and to deliberate on strategies for the year ahead.

In her welcoming remarks, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, expressed appreciation for the Board’s dedication and support since its reconstitution, noting that their commitment had been instrumental in advancing the Secretariat’s coordinating mandate.

She observed that human trafficking continues to evolve in complexity, influenced by technological advances, economic pressures, and global migration trends, and stressed the need for proactive, informed, and strategic responses.

The Minister highlighted notable achievements recorded in 2025, including progress in prevention campaigns, rescue operations, victim support, and inter-agency collaboration, while acknowledging the need to further strengthen institutional capacity, partnerships, and sustainable resourcing.

The meeting concluded with the formal adoption of the 2026 work plan, which outlines key programmes and initiatives aimed at deepening collaboration and strengthening national efforts to prevent and combat human trafficking across the country.
