Compassion International Ghana (CIGH), a Christian non-profit organization committed to the holistic development of children and youth, has paid a working visit to the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.
The delegation, led by its National Director, Mr. Kobina Yeboah Okyere, used the opportunity to congratulate the Minister on her appointment and discuss ways to deepen the organization’s collaboration with the Ministry.
Mr. Okyere expressed appreciation for the long-standing partnership between CIGH and the Ministry, noting that collaboration with government is central to the organization’s mission of ensuring that children grow up in safe and supportive environments.
Discussions during the meeting focused on key issues including child protection and case management, as both parties acknowledged the importance of aligning efforts to promote the welfare of vulnerable children. The CIGH team highlighted the organization’s work with 418 church partners across 12 regions, reaching over 99,000 children and youth since 2005, and emphasized the need to strengthen government–civil society partnerships to achieve sustainable outcomes in social protection.
On her part, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey welcomed the continued partnership and spoke about the Ministry’s plans to scale up child-focused interventions across the country. She further highlighted the recent Cabinet approval of the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) policy, which seeks to promote integrated early childhood development.
