CHAIRMAN FOR CENTRE FOR ECONOMIC LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CALLS ON MOGCSP MINISTER

The Chairman for the Economic Leadership Development (CELD) and African Leadership Organization, Dr. Terrance Drew has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu on Friday 20th January 2023.

The two had bilateral discussions on how to partner, galvanize ideas and empower the vulnerable , especially, women, children, and ‘kayayei’ in the country.

In his introductory remarks, Dr. Terrance Drew lauded the Minister for her contribution to women’s leadership development and social protection towards the vulnerable groupings in the country.

Dr. Terrance Drew therefore called on MoGCSP through the Minister to collaborate with the CELD Organization to help solve gender issues affecting the development of women and children.

The Minister expressed her gratitude to the organisation for recognizing the ministry’s work in helping the poor and vulnerable in the country. She indicated that there is a need for women to be mentored on ‘women in leadership roles’, This according to her will help solve issues like ‘kayayie’ in the country.

Hon Lariba Zuweira pledged on the Ministry’s willingness to work with the organisation in order to help solve the emerging issues on gender together. ‘We need to get a lot of women on board to help the situation otherwise our voices cannot be heard’, she emphasized.

The Centre for Economic Leadership and Development Organization (CELD) facilitate, accelerate and bolster virile contributions to the CELD’s mission of promoting innovation, entrepreneurship and development in Africa, through the enthronement of good governance and responsible leadership on the continent especially in the gender development and social protection space.

The Chairman for the Centre of Economic Leadership Development and African Leadership Organization was accompanied by other officials.

Present at the meeting were the Director of the Ghana Productive Safety Net Project, Mr. Mawutor Ablo and the Director for Human Resource Directorate, Mr. Ebenezer Charway.
